EFR Primary Care (CPR)
Being able to provide assistance in the early stages of an emergency is critical. This could mean the difference between life and death. We are here to prepare you for that.
This course is the first stepping stone towards building your education on first aid. During your time on course you will learn the following techniques:
- Scene Safety Assessment
- Universal Precautions - Communicable Disease Protection, including barrier use
- Primary Assessment
- Rescue Breathing
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Conscious and Unconscious Obstructed Airway Management
- Serious Bleeding Management
- Shock Management
- Spinal Injury Management
This course is usually run in conjunction with the EFR Secondary Care (First Aid).
This is a one day course. Depending on the group size, the course will take up anything from 4 to 8 hours.
You will receive an EFR Primary Care manual on the day of the course. During the runtime of the course you will constantly use this manual as a reference to read skill objectives from.
This is the main focus of this course. During your time on course you will go over all the necessary techniques with your EFR Instructor. You will learn the value of the skills and how to put them in use if there's a real emergency.
You will have access to both your Instructor and the EFR Primary Care DVD to assist you in understanding exactly how to approach all the situations.
At the end of the course you will need to write and exam that is based on all of the theory you covered during the runtime of the course. You will need to score a minimum of 75% for this exam and also cover all the ones you had incorrect with your EFR Instructor.
